What is the difference between Tahitian and Hawaiian Noni?

There is little difference between Noni fruit grown in Tahiti and Noni fruit grown in Hawaii. Or any other place for that matter. Noni is God's gift to mankind and it grows in many places, from Hawaii to Tahiti to China to Malaysia. But it is the very same plant. It is like oranges: are Florida oranges better than those grown in California? The Tahitian/Morinda people go to great length to boast that the chemical "footprint" of Tahitian Noni juice is different from other brands. This is easily explained by the fact their juice is NOT pure Noni juice at all. Why wouldn't the chemical footprint of a blend of Noni, guava, grape and blueberry juice differ from the chemical footprint of pure Noni juice? Indeed, we would be disappointed if our juice did have a chemical footprint similar to Tahitian Noni juice, and would be working desperately to discover where the contaminants had come from! The amazing thing is that because Noni is such a remarkable fruit, any product that contains its juice is effective! So even the watered down Tahitian Noni juice will produce health benefits. It all comes down to a difference in manufacturing and marketing philosophy and methods. In other words, how and why Noni juice is made and sold. Tahitian Noni juice is made from Noni pulp that is transported to the US in cargo ships, then diluted with water and a mixture of guava, pear, grape, or berry juices. Amazingly, the FDA allows the label to contain the words "100% pure Noni juice" even if the bottle contains other fruit juices. You must examine the list of ingredients to see what you're drinking. Our label states clearly that there is one, AND ONLY ONE, ingredient in the bottle: 100% pure Noni juice, period, WITHOUT DILUTANTS OR ADDITIVES OF ANY KIND. Our juice is made from handpicked fruit that is naturally aged in the traditional Hawaiian way taught by our forefathers, a process that takes 2 months and allows the juice to seep naturally from the fruit.

Marketing technique is the other major difference between NoniConnection and the Tahitian/Morinda conglomerate. Tahitian Noni juice is sold through a huge multi-level marketing organization. With fancy packaging, slick advertising, and a professional sales staff, their overhead is extremely high and their prices reflect this fact. We doubt any of the people selling Tahitian Noni juice even know what a Noni fruit looks like or has ever held one in their hand! NoniConnection of Hawaii is a family-owned and operated business. SMALL IS BEAUTIFUL! Because there are no middlemen or brokers, we are able to sell our juice much more cheaply than the Tahitian product. Naturally, there is nothing wrong with mixing our pure Hawaiian Noni juice with water or fruit juice at home, without paying a lot of extra money.

What is Puna Noni Juice?

Puna is the name of the district on the Big Island of Hawaii where our noni farms are located. It is also the name we called our paternal grandmother. Puna died in 1986 at the age of 84. She was a little girl during the final years of the Hawaiian monarchy, and remembers seeing the royal family ride on horseback through downtown Honolulu. Puna spoke fluent Hawaiian and taught the Titcomb children everything they know about Hawaiian culture and values. She also taught us the proper way to make noni juice, a simple process which has been passed down through generations of ancient Hawaiian healers. This method is the same method we use today to produce our premium quality noni juice. Our noni juice is second to none, and we challenge anyone to show us a better, purer noni juice.

Are the capsules as potent as the juice?

Noni capsules are great for people who travel or who simply can't tolerate the taste of the juice. Our capsules are made from whole ripened Noni fruit that has been dried by a patented dehydration process that removes only the moisture while retaining all of the health benefits of pure Noni juice. Indeed, 2 capsules may be dissolved in 1 ounce of water to make pure reconstituted Noni juice. Beware of those who use the recycled pulp, leaves, and other waste products left over from the production of Noni juice to make powder for tablets and capsules. Such by-products contain very little health benefits.

What is the recommended dosage?

As a supplement you may start with 1oz (2T) daily. After your body becomes acclimated to Noni, this dosage may be increased as necessary. The best time to take Noni juice is first thing in the morning, or a half hour before meals. That way the juice is quickly absorbed into the body. If the taste of pure Noni juice is too unpalatable to you, it is perfectly acceptable to mix it with water or your favorite fruit juice.

How soon will I feel some health benefits?

Each of us is unique in terms of age, health status, and tolerance for different types of medicines. At any given moment there are thousands of chemical reactions taking place within our bodies. This accounts for a wide variety of individual reactions to Noni. Some people will notice a difference immediately, while others may take longer to experience the benefits. Our experience with Noni indicates that most people will notice some effect within the first month.

What is the shelf life of Noni juice?

Unopened Noni juice has an almost indefinite shelf life of up to 1 year or more. After opening, Noni should be kept in the refrigerator. Noni juice tastes best chilled, and it will last at least 6 months in your refrigerator. Noni juice is a fermented product, and it will continue to age slowly on your shelf. So the bottle you open 1 year from now will taste a little stronger than the first bottle you opened. This is completely natural. Some people even believe that the potency of Noni increases the more it is aged, although there is no scientific evidence to support this belief.

What does Noni juice taste like?

How should the taste of Noni juice be described? This is a question that great thinkers and philosophers have wrestled with throughout history. Most would describe the taste as somewhere between "not too bad" and "really, really awful." The best tasting juice is made from fully ripened fruit. Fully ripened Noni fruit begins to ferment almost immediately after harvesting, turning translucent and soft, and emitting a strong odor. Juice made from fully ripened Noni fruit will have a heavy fruity taste. Green or half-ripe fruit produces a vinegary or bitter tasting juice. A bitter, vinegary taste is also the result of leaving old, leftover pulp in the aging tanks just to try to squeeze out every last drop of juice in the name of profit. While the taste of Noni juice has never been described as good, most people will get used to the taste, and even begin to like it...just a little.

How do you make Noni juice?

Our 100% pure Hawaiian Noni juice is made from the fruit grown in the volcanic enriched soil of Puna on the Big Island of Hawaii. We use the whole fruit only, no bark or leaves. After harvesting, the fresh fruit is washed, then packed into sterile tanks to undergo an aging or fermentation process for 2 months. After aging the fruit is cold-pressed and the juice drained from the tanks. It is immediately pasteurized and bottled in a facility inspected by the Hawaii Dept of Health. The leftover pulp is returned to field as compost or fertilizer or else discarded. It is not left in the aging tank, or freeze-dried into a powder to be sold as capsules to an unsuspecting public.

Can I become a Noni juice distributor?

Be still, my heart! Seriously, we do not actively recruit distributors. But we realize that having a network of distributors can help us to make our juice available to a wider range of people. Our regular prices are already below wholesale. Many customers buy by the case, and sell individual bottles for $20-25 each, thereby making a profit of $5-10 per bottle (which is more than we make!) We don't regulate how much you sell each bottle for. But remember: most people who buy Noni juice already have health problems. Let's not add a financial burden.

We are not a MLM (multi-level marketing) company like many of the profiteers selling Tahitian Noni juice, but we do offer discounts for bulk orders of 10 cases or more. But whether you buy 2 cases or 2 pallets, there are no application forms to fill out, starter kits to buy, or user fees to pay. To become a distributor is as easy as placing an order! Our regular case prices are available on our website at For larger quantities, please contact us.

What if I buy your Noni juice, but don't like it?

Simply put, NoniConnection has a no-hassle, no pilikia return policy that puts your needs ahead of our own. If you don't like our juice, simply return any unused portions for a complete refund. Just try that with Tahitian or Morinda!

Dude, what's with the turtle? Are you selling Noni or turtle juice?

That's silly. Who ever heard of turtle juice? The answer is Honu, the Hawaiian sea turtle is our family's aumakua, or protector. Puna is the district on the Big Island of Hawaii where our Noni is grown. It is also the name we called our Grandmother, a truly great lady, who instilled within us the traditional Hawaiian values of hard work, malama aina or caring for the land, and rigorous honesty in all our dealings.
